Jennifer Olvera holds an English degree from DePaul University and began covering Chicago food and dining in 1998. Having spent years as a restaurant reviewer for Chicago magazine, she went on to pen international, culinary travel stories for Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and Frommers.com. Jennifer contributed to the Zagat 2010/2011 Chicago Restaurants Survey, regularly tests and develops recipes for Chicago Sun-Times and oversees Midwest and Chicago dining for Gayot.com. Her work has been published everywhere from Women’s Day Special Interest Publications to Orbitz.com, Edible Chicago and Time Out Chicago.
Jennifer lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, Chris, and son, Hayden Greer. When she’s not plucking heirloom tomatoes from her backyard garden, you’ll find her canning, sourcing ingredients from local farms or kicking back over an ice-cold martini.
